Terms & Conditions of Purchase

1. Your use of www.maxlite.ie

This website is provided by Maxlite IRL Ltd for your convenience, and it presents information provided for your guidance, some from third parties. We cannot accept any liability for the accuracy of such information, and your use of it is not a substitute for your personal or professional judgement and reasonable skill and care.​

If you use the website, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your payment details and for restricting access to your computer to prevent unauthorised use. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur on your computer. Maxlite IRL Ltd reserves the right to refuse access to the website, terminate accounts, remove or edit content, or cancel orders at our discretion.

2. Copyright and database rights

All content included on the website, such as text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, data compilations, and software, is the property of Maxlite IRL Ltd, its affiliates or its content suppliers and is protected by European and international copyright and database right laws. You may not systematically extract and/or re-utilise parts of the contents of the website without Maxlite IRL Ltd expressing written consent.

3. Our Contract

When you place an order to purchase a product from Maxlite IRL Ltd via www.maxlite.ie, we will send you an automatic e-mail confirming receipt of your order and containing the details of your order. This is an automatically created email that simply confirms the details that we have received from you. Maxlite IRL Ltd reserve the right to cancel any orders if there was a genuine and honest mistake made by any technical issues. Your order represents an offer to us to purchase a product. This is accepted by us when we send a further e-mail order acknowledgement (confirming the dispatch of the order or marked ordered with supplier). Acceptance will be complete at the time we send the Acknowledgement e-mail to you. Any products on the same order which we have not confirmed in an Acknowledgement e-mail do not form part of that contract.

4. Taxes and duties

When ordering goods from Maxlite IRL Ltdfor delivery outside Ireland or the UK, you may be subject to import duties and taxes and clearance charges, which are levied once the package reaches the specified destination. We have no control over these charges.

5. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Europe & The UK. You agree, as we do, to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the European courts. Your Statutory Rights are not affected. 

6. Our Details

This website www.maxlite.ie, is owned and operated by Maxlite IRL Ltd.

7. Delivery of goods

Goods ordered from www.maxlite.ie are dispatched under the following terms and conditions:

1. Payment is made in advance when the order is placed.

2. Goods remain the property of the seller until received by the buyer and full payment confirmed.

3. Claims for losses or shortages must be made within three days of the invoice date.

4. Orders are accepted for execution at prices current at the date of dispatch.

5. No goods shall be returned without prior agreement and a returns number.

6. If you ordered through our website, you have 14 working days from the day your items arrive to inform us that you’d like to return them.

  1. Do not open, install, or use unwanted goods. Opening, installing, or using goods counts as acceptance, and such goods are then non-refundable and non-returnable.

  2. Statutory right to return (online purchases only):
    You have a statutory right to return unopened goods purchased from Maxlite Lighting & Interiors Ltd within 14 (fourteen) days of delivery. If you are not ordering a replacement item, a return charge will apply as outlined below.

  3. Notification of return:
    You must notify us of your wish to return the item within 14 (fourteen) days of delivery, stating the date of delivery.

  4. Return costs:
    The cost of returning unwanted goods is at the end user’s expense. Refunds will be reimbursed minus the return fee:

    • Standard items under 30kg: €10 via An Post.

  5. Special order items:
    If your sales adviser has stated that an item is a special order item (ordered specifically for you and not kept in stock), such items cannot be refused once the order has been placed. Please double-check sizes and specifications before purchase. If you cancel a special order, a charge may be incurred.

    • Duty of care:
      You have a duty of care while the goods are in your possession. We reserve the right to charge for any damage occurring during this period.

      Re-packaging / re-stocking fees:
      We reserve the right to apply a re-packaging or re-stocking fee at the store’s discretion under the following conditions:

      • Goods are returned as new but incomplete (e.g., missing components)

      • Goods are missing or have damaged original packaging

      • Cancellation was requested outside of the 14-day period

  6. Non-returnable items:
    We do not accept returns and will not provide refunds under the following conditions:

    • Goods are in any condition other than ‘as new’

    • Goods have been installed and/or used

    • Cables or components have been cut or terminated

  7. Refunds:
    Refunds will be processed within 30 days of the cancellation date, depending on payment method, and minus applicable return fees.

 Once approved, send the item(s) back making sure they’re unused, uninstalled, and still in their original packaging.

We can offer a refund, exchange, or store credit, depending on your preference and the condition of the returned goods.

Returns requested outside these timeframes are at the discretion of our staff and subject to a 20% restocking fee if approved. Any item showing signs of installation, tampering, or repacking will be rejected or charged at up to 50% restocking.

Item Condition

If returning an item, it must be:

  • Unused & Uninstalled
  • In original packaging 
  • Undamaged and resalable 

Items that have been installed, altered, or damaged may not be accepted, and we reserve the right to apply a restocking fee if needed.

Non-Returnable Items

Certain items cannot be returned unless faulty:

  • Custom-made or bespoke products
  • Special-order or non-stock supplier lines
  • Installed or powered-up fittings
  • Clearance, promotional, sale, or ex-display items
  • Project or bulk orders unless pre-agreed

No returns, exchanges, or refunds can be offered on above products unless the product is faulty.

Restocking Fees and Supplier Restrictions

We work with a wide range of lighting brands and suppliers, and each one has their own return conditions. Because of this, some products may be subject to a restocking fee, and a small number of items or brands may be non-returnable unless faulty.

Where a restocking fee applies, it typically ranges between 20%–50% of the item’s value. This fee helps cover supplier handling, inspection, and re-packaging costs — we always try to reduce or waive them where possible.

We’ll always let you know before confirming a return if any fees or supplier restrictions apply.

Return Costs

If you’re returning an item simply because it didn’t suit, the return postage or courier fee will be your responsibility. We recommend using a tracked and insured courier to make sure the parcel reaches us safely — items remain your responsibility until received.

If your item arrives faulty or damaged, or if we’ve made an error with your order, we will cover all return costs and attempt to resolve it asap. 

Faulty or Damaged Goods

On the off-chance that your order arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the issue and packaging. We will do our best to find a fair solution.

Returns Process

In order to begin a return, please email us at hello@maxlite.ie with your order number, item details and reasoning for returning. Once your return is approved, we will help you through the next steps.

We reserve the right to refuse a return under this policy if the goods are not in a re-saleable, as-sold condition in their original packaging with all documentation, and the item and its packaging are undamaged and unused. Please make sure your order number is clearly visible on the label or packaging.
